Description
Stonehenge Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring an ashlar central bay and a gabled stone slate roof with stone stacks at the left end and along the ridge. The building has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with a loft, and has a three-window range. To the right, there is a studded door with a chamfered timber lintel above it. The gabled central bay includes hood moulds over three- and four-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows. The end bays feature gabled dormers and mid 19th-century segmental arches over three-light casements, along with a mid 19th-century rear wing. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with a lozenge-shaped step in the central room. The room to the left has a chamfered bressumer above an open fireplace, along with a stop-chamfered beam and joists.
