Description

The Maybush Public House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with a later extension to the left. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, with coursed rubble in the left bay, featuring brick quoins and dressings. The roof is gabled and covered in old tiles, with brick ridge stacks. Originally a three-unit outshut plan, it was extended to four units. The building is one storey and attic, featuring a three-window range. A segmental brick arch frames the two-panelled front door, which has a tile pediment hood, alongside a 19th-century three-light casement window. The left bay had a raised first storey in the mid-20th century, also with a segmental brick arch over a blocked door and a three-light casement. Dentilled brick eaves are present, along with three gabled dormers containing two-light casement windows. An 18th-century sash window is visible in the right gable wall. More recent extensions are located at the rear. Inside, the building features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The first floor was not inspected. The property is included on the list for its group value.
