Description
The Old Post Office is a house dating from the early to late 18th century. It is constructed of banded marlstone and limestone rubble, featuring coursed squared marlstone and a concrete plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan that has been extended to three units and stands two storeys high plus an attic.
The front has three windows, with the two bays on the right being earlier in date. These bays include a doorway situated between flat-arched casements, although the left casement is now blocked. On the first floor, the left of the two tall windows has chamfered lintels and has been reduced in size. The added bay on the left is made of squared marlstone and features a tall casement at ground level with a limestone lintel, along with a 9-pane sash window above it. The roof is topped with gable parapets. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
