Description
Bylands is a house located in Swerford, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed marlstone rubble and features wooden lintels, with a concrete plain-tile roof and brick stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high. The front has three windows, including a central rounded bread-oven projection, with casements of two and three lights to the right, a three-light casement to the left, and a plank doorway at the extreme left. The first floor contains three three-light casements, all of which have leaded glazing. The roof has stacks positioned to the right of the centre and an end stack at the right gable, which features a parapet with moulded kneelers. There is a lower wing at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
