Description

Foxhills Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the late 17th and early 18th centuries, with later 18th and early 19th-century additions. The farmhouse is built of squared marlstone with a Welsh-slate roof and brick gable stacks. It has a T-shaped plan, with extensions. The original two-window range on the left has a four-panel door with a rectangular overlight, and flanking three-light casement windows with flat arches and projecting keyblocks. The first floor has two two-light casement windows with wooden lintels. A two-window range was added, projecting forward to the left, and features leaded two-light casement windows; the ground floor windows have segmental arches and projecting keyblocks. Both roof sections have parapets, the earlier one with moulded kneelers. A rear wing contains two blocked, two-light stone-mullioned windows at a semi-basement level, and one three-light casement window with very old lattice glazing. Inside, there is a winder stair and moulded plank doors.
