Description

WORTON OVER WORTON SP42NW 6/252 Barn and farabuildings approx. 30m. to NE of Worton Heath Farmhouse GV II Barn and farmbuildings. Late C18. Coursed squared marlstone; Stonesfield-slate, corrugated-asbestos and concrete plain-tile roofs. 5-bay barn has central opposed double doors, lower towards yard. Lower tiled ranges extending to left and right around 5 sides of an octagonal farmyard, are now mostly converted to stables. Interior: barn trusses, with ties and collars, carry trenched purlins, Farmhouse and flanking wings (q.v.) form retaining sides of octagon. Included for group value.
