Description
This is a barn and farm buildings dating from the late 18th century, located approximately 30 meters northeast of Worton Heath Farmhouse. The structure is built from coursed squared marlstone and features roofs made of Stonesfield-slate, corrugated asbestos, and concrete plain tiles. The barn has five bays and includes central opposed double doors that are lower towards the yard. There are lower tiled ranges extending to the left and right, which now mostly serve as stables around five sides of an octagonal farmyard. Inside, the barn has trusses with ties and collars that support trenched purlins. The farmhouse and its flanking wings form the retaining sides of the octagon. This building is included for its group value.
