FOLKINGTON WOOTTON LANE 1 5208 Barn on west side of stable yard at Wootton Manor TQ 50 NE 18/204D

2 Barn. Early C19. Walls to about mid height of brick in three courses of inclined headers alternating with one course of stretchers, upper part of inclined knapped flints in courses; brick quoining to all angles and jambs, hipped slate roof. Five bay threshing barn with central opposing wagon door- ways. Doorway on east (yard) side has a shallow segmental brick arched head and later brick infill. An upper and a lower row of vent slits to either side of doorways and at ends of barn. Trusses with braced principal beams and collar ties. The east wall at north end is masked by adjoining west range of stables (q.v.). Range of farm buildings adjoining to south of barn not included. Barn included for group value only.
