Description
Thatched Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatch roof with brick end stacks that were rebuilt in the 20th century on the left side. The building has a two-unit plan and consists of one storey and an attic, with a two-bay range. The left bay, which is from the early 18th century, has a timber lintel over a plank door and a 20th-century timber porch. The right bay has a timber lintel over a 20th-century two-light casement window and a 20th-century half-dormer casement window. The early 18th-century one-storey bay to the left, made of similar materials, has a blocked door. At the rear, there is a 19th-century four-light dormer casement window. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
