Description

Westerleigh is a house dating to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof and stone end stacks. The house follows a two-unit through-passage plan and has two storeys, with a five-window front. A chamfered timber lintel with pyramidal stops sits above a 20th-century plank door, which is sheltered by a pediment hood. Similar timber lintels are present to the left, while the right side features 19th-century lintels above mid-19th century two-pane sash windows. Timber lintels also cover a small blocked window and a narrow mid-19th century sash located above the entrance door. A 19th-century outshut and a 20th-century one-storey extension are present at the rear. Internally, the house features cased beams, with the exception of the first floor where chamfered beams are visible, including stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
