Description
West End Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a later 18th-century extension. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof, with a brick stack at the right end. It has an L-shaped plan with a rear right wing and is two storeys tall, comprising a three-window range. There is a flat stone arch over a blocked door, with a 20th-century two-light casement window flanked by timber lintels over 20th-century casements. The rear wing, which has one storey and an attic, includes a 20th-century porch and a stone end stack. A two-storey bay at the rear has an end stack made of stone, finished in brick, which contains a bread oven. Inside, there is a chamfered beam and winder stairs leading from the first floor to the attic in the front range. The rear features a collar-truss roof with butt purlins, and the open fireplaces have been remodelled.
