Description
The Post Office in Aston Hampton and Shifford is a shop and house built around 1840. It features squared and coursed limestone with a stone-coped gabled Welsh slate roof and brick end and ridge stacks. The building is L-shaped with a rear right wing and has two storeys with a four-window range.
On the left side, there is a six-panelled door with an overlight, set in a plain doorcase with a bracketed flat hood. To the right, another six-panelled door with an overlight is also in a plain doorcase. Above the door and the flanking shop windows, which have glazing bars, there is a moulded cornice. The central and first-floor windows are eight-pane sashes with stone lintels, and similar sashes are found at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
