Description

This is a house, originally comprising two dwellings, dating to the early 19th century in Chipping Norton. The exterior is finished with incised and colourwashed render, and has a slate roof with two brick stacks, one central on the ridge. The building is three storeys high and of a single build. Each dwelling has a canted bay window that extends through all three floors, featuring large pane sash windows and a deeply projecting eaves cornice supported by shaped brackets. Number 18 has a 20th-century door within a moulded wood doorcase, while Number 20 has a door with six flush panels, a patterned rectangular fanlight, and a moulded doorcase. The interior features mouldings mirroring those of the doorcase on a door architrave, and three contemporary fireplaces. The roof structure was signed and dated by the carpenter. A datestone inscribed "1825" was found at the rear.
