Description

Old George House Antiques is a former inn that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to the early 17th century and is constructed of coursed rubblestone with stone dressings. The building features a gabled slate roof with end stacks, one made of stone and the other of brick. It has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range. The ground floor includes two canted bays with mullioned windows that extend to the first floor, where there are three-pane wooden casements above. Between the bays on the ground floor is a part glazed 20th-century door. Above this door is a projecting verandah adorned with early 19th-century wrought ironwork, which leads to a panelled door set under a wooden lintel.
