Description
Buttercoombe Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed squared marlstone, featuring some wooden lintels. It has a shingle roof with ashlar gable stacks and is designed in a T-plan. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front, which includes a central plank door set within a 20th-century conservatory. The outer bays are fitted with 3-light casements. At the rear, there is a long two-window wing that also has 3-light casements, a blocked door on the left side, and flanking outshuts. Inside, there is a large fireplace that includes a blacked bread oven.
