Description

Masons Arms Cottage is a group of three cottages dating from 1836, as indicated by a datestone. The cottages are constructed of coursed squared marl stone with Welsh-slate roofs and brick gable stacks. The main block is arranged in a T-shape, comprising a pair of cottages with a further cottage set to the rear. The three--storey, three-window range features plank doors situated below blind windows. Twelve-pane sashes are found in the outer bays, each with projecting keyblocks. The shallow-pitched roof has gable parapets. A two-storey, two-window range to the rear includes a blocked central round-headed archway, now a doorway, featuring a large mask keyblock displaying the date. Further left is a doorway, and there are casement windows. A small wing set in the angle of the ranges contains an oval window. The interiors have not been inspected. The cottages are listed for their group value.
