Description
The Lodge at Shipton Leys, along with The Stables, is a villa with a stable wing that has been converted. It dates back to the early 19th century and is constructed from coursed rubble with an ashlar band over the ground floor and at the corner piers. The building features a hipped slate roof with wide eaves and stands two storeys tall, with three windows that have glazing bar sashes. A central Tuscan portico adorns the entrance, with abaci decorated with linked circles and a blocking course above. The entrance has two-panel oak doors with a radiating and weathered fan-light. There are two bay returns on the sides. The Stables, which are set back to the west, consist of four bays to one bay with a wall chimney, also two storeys high, and are linked to the rear wing of the house by an elliptical archway.
