Description

The gates, gatepiers, and entrance quadrants opposite Shipton Court were built around 1903-1906, likely as part of the work by Perkins and Bulmer for Mr. Pepper. They are constructed from coursed rubble and feature coping that ramps up to the inner piers. There are two sets of pilastered gatepiers; the outer ones are lower and both sets have cornices and ball finials. The inner gatepiers have wave moulding in the rebated corners. The gates are made of cast and wrought iron, featuring arrowhead dog rails, enriched hinge panels, and additional ramped panels leading up to the gatepiers. These gates are located opposite the notable gates to Shipton Court.
