Description
The entrance walls and gatepiers located about 15 yards west of Shipton Court were built around 1900. They consist of low rubble walls that connect the eastern ends of the converted stable ranges. These walls rise to medium-sized ashlar piers topped with ball finials, which frame the entrance to the front carriage sweep of Shipton Court. This feature is depicted in a photograph from around 1900.
