Description

SHIPTON-UNDER-WYCHWOOD PLUM LANE SP 2617-2717 (north side) 7/86 Dovecote about 7 yards north-east of Court - Cottage GV II Dovecote. Probably early C17. Rubble with Cotswold stone roof. Altered and restored. Two-and-a-half storeys, square plan, cross-gabled type, lacking cupola. String over ground floor, band over first floor, coped verges with ball finials. C20 windows, on the first floor a 3-light mullion window replacing an earlier one which breaks the line of the string. Also on first floor an elliptical-headed doorway approached by C20 stairs. C20 garage on ground floor. More traditional appearance to east and north. (Court Cottage is not included on this list.)
