Description

The garden walls located approximately 20 meters south of Lower Dornford Farmhouse are listed as a group value context. These walls, which surround gardens measuring about 40 by 40 meters, date from the 17th century, with the western section constructed in the early to mid-18th century. They are made of coursed limestone rubble, and the early to mid-18th century wall to the west is built of brick in Flemish bond with flared headers, resting on a moulded stone plinth. Notable features include part of a moulded arched fireplace and the chamfered jambs of a 17th-century doorway located to the north.
