Description
Hollybank is a house built in 1862 by William Wilkinson. It features squared and coursed limestone and has a gabled Welsh slate roof with moulded stone coping and stone stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in a Domestic Gothic style. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The front of the house includes two gabled bays on the left, with the left bay featuring a two-storey canted bay window that has dogtooth-carved eaves. To the right, there is another canted bay window with similar eaves and 20th-century French windows. The windows have pointed tympanum arches and pelmets over plate-glass sashes, while the central bay contains a two-light Gothic window with a foliate capital to the shaft, positioned above 19th-century French windows. There is a one-storey range with a canted bay window on the left. The right side wall features a panelled door set within a moulded pointed-arched doorway, along with Gothic windows adjacent to a square bay window that is canted on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have Gothic-style features, including stone fireplaces and panelled doors.
