Description
This building, located at 64, 76, 76A, and 78 High Street, is a house that has been converted into four shops and a dwelling. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a mid-19th century stucco front. The roof is gabled and covered with stone slates, while the rear has concrete tiles. The ridge stack is made of stone, finished in brick, with rendered end stacks. The building features a five-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, displaying a seven-window range. The shop fronts are from the 20th century, and there is a late 19th-century front with a moulded cornice on the left. The first floor includes late 19th-century horned sash windows, three 20th-century windows in the centre, and two dormers with gabled roofs. At the rear, there are 18th-century wings made of similar materials. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
