Description

This structure is a gatepier, wall, and railings located 25 meters west of Shill House, dating from the 18th century. It consists of one of a pair of gatepiers made of rusticated ashlar, featuring a moulded cornice and a ball finial. The attached curved dwarf wall is from the 19th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone with stone coping, and it is topped with 19th-century wrought-iron railings that have small spearhead finials. This structure is included for its group value.
