Description

A house, dating from the early to mid 18th century, now used as three shops and a dwelling. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with 19th-century squared masonry to the centre, and has a gabled concrete tile roof. Brick ridge stacks and a left-end stack finished in brick are also present. The building follows a five-unit plan. It is two storeys high with a five-window range, although the shop fronts are 20th-century replacements. On the first floor are timber lintels over 19th-century horned sash windows with glazing bars. A mid-19th century plate-glass sash window is located in a half-dormer above a blocked former through-entrance in the central bay. A two-storey rear wing, constructed of similar materials, dates from the early to mid 18th century. The interior of the rear wing features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The first floor has not been inspected.
