Description
No. 37 on Corn Street is a house that has been converted into two shops and a dwelling. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled roof made of artificial stone slate, featuring a stone ridge stack. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a four-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century door and shop front, while the first floor features timber lintels above late 18th-century six-pane sash windows. There is a hipped roof dormer with a mid-19th-century two-light casement window. The former carriage entry in the right bay has been converted into a 20th-century shop with a weatherboarded front. At the rear, there are 20th-century one-storey offices. The interior of the first floor has not been inspected.
