Description

This is a late 16th-century house located in Witney’s Corn Street. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble, topped with a gabled roof covered in artificial stone slates. A moulded ashlar stack stands at one end of the building. The house has a one-unit plan, two storeys, and an attic. It originally had a single window, although timber lintels now span the 20th-century door and windows. A gabled roof dormer has been added. The interior features chamfered beam construction, with a partly visible raised-cruck truss. A late 16th-century stone fireplace with an ovolo-moulded cornice is located on the right side.
