Description

No. 55 Corn Street is a house dating from the 17th century that was refronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and features a gabled Welsh slate roof, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The house has a central-staircase plan and is two storeys high, with a symmetrical two-window range. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a moulded wood architrave, topped by a bracketed flat hood. Above the door, there is a stone lintel over eight-pane sash windows. The interior and rear of the property have not been inspected but are likely to be of interest.
