GREAT TEW B4022 SP32NE (East side) 5/23 Hookerswell Farmhouse 15/08/79 GV II

Farmhouse. Mid C18, extended late C18. Limestone rubble with limestone- and marlstone-ashlar dressings; Stonesfield-slate roof with ashlar stacks. 2-unit plan, extended to double-depth plan with rear wing. 3 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window front, with chamfered rusticated quoins and flat arches with projecting keyblocks, has a central 4-panel door within an added gabled ashlar porch, and has wide 6-pane sashes in the outer bays with small 4-pane sashes under the eaves. Gables have parapets and the original gable stack, to left, has a plinth and dentil entablature. Left gable wall has a leaded casement with wooden lintel. Added parallel range and its extension to right have segmental-arched leaded casements and gable parapets to rear with projecting kneelers. Interior not inspected.
