Description

A row of four cottages was built in 1863 by Charles Buckeridge in the Gothic Revival style. The cottages are constructed of coursed squared limestone with ashlar dressings and feature a concrete roof covered with plain tiles, along with partly-rebuilt stone stacks. They have single-bay, double-depth plans.

The symmetrical six-window front has a pair of pointed-arched doorways in the centre, accompanied by chamfered surrounds and ornamental hinges. Above these doorways are small single lights with transoms. The remaining bays contain stone mullioned-and-transomed windows, with two or three lights each. All openings are topped with marlstone relieving arches. Main first-floor windows are half dormers set into four stone gables. The ends have similar doors and windows.

The cottages were originally intended as almshouses. The interiors have not been inspected.
