Description

Manor Farmhouse dates from the late 16th or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rubble stone, with some ashlar dressings and timber lintels, and has a Welsh-slate and concrete plain-tile roof. The design is based on a three-unit through-passage plan. The house is two storeys high, with a lower ground-floor section and an attic.

The two bays to the right of the front elevation are taller and feature a central 4-panel doorway, likely a later addition. To the right of the door is a 3-light casement set within the lowered stone surround of a former 4-light mullioned window with a dripstone. To the left is a 3-light casement, and the first floor has two 2-light casements, all with leaded glazing. A lower tiled bay to the left contains the passage doorway, a 3-light leaded casement, and a large 20th-century roof dormer. The rear of the taller bays retains a 4-light stone-mullioned window with a dripstone and a leaded 2-light casement. The 19th-century roof extends over an irregular rear wall. A fourth bay, at the far left, was formerly an outbuilding.

Inside, a large inglenook fireplace backs onto the through passage. Other interior features include stop-chamfered joists spanning between a heavy chamfered spine beam and lateral beams.
