Description
The granary range, located approximately 10 metres northwest of Hobbshole Farmhouse, is a granary and farm building dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of marlstone ashlar and features roofs made of corrugated asbestos, plain tiles, and Stonesfield slate.
The building consists of a single range. The two-storey granary section on the left has a stone external stair, a two-light casement window on the first floor, and ground-floor openings that include a segmental-arched cart entrance. The asbestos roof is topped with stone gable parapets. The single-storey range on the right has three stable doors and four windows, all featuring segmental arches. At the extreme right, a cartshed section returns to the gable end of the barn and includes entrances to the rear. The roof has Stonesfield slates at the back and tiles at the front.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of the Great Tew Estate.
