Description
This building is a barn, stables, and granary located approximately 40 metres northwest of Lowlands Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and has corrugated-asbestos roofs. The structure forms an L-shaped group. The barn features four bays and has a shallow porch to the right of the centre. At the rear, there are opposed full-height doors set beneath a segmental arch, and the side and end walls include slit vents. The two-storey stable range extends forward from the right side and has segmental-arched openings on the ground floor, while the first-floor granary has a gable opening. Inside, both ranges have butt-purlin roofs supported by trusses with tie beams and collars, and most of the rafters are still intact.
