Description
This barn, located approximately 1.1 kilometers north-north-east of Spelsburydown in Dean, dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with an artificial stone-slate roof. The barn has a six-bay plan, with opposed double doors in bays 2 and 5, and deep porches flanking the left entrance. The walls include some triangular vents and two pitching doors. The roof has half hips at the main gables and full hips over the porches. Inside, the trusses are supported by tie beams and collars, with two rows of staggered butt purlins; the rafters are likely a later addition.
