Description

SP30NW LEW 3/235 Lower Farmhouse

II Farmhouse. One bay is dated RIM 1675 on plaque; altered early-mid C18 bay to left, with late C18-C19 cross-wing projecting at left end; much refenestrated and refurbished C20. Coursed rubble limestone with stone slate roofs and rubble stone chimneys. 2 storeys. C17 bay has C20 2-light plastic casements with old stop-chamfered wooden lintels, the lower window opening altered but retaining traces of former wider jambs. To first floor left is a C17 2-light window with ovolo-moulded wooden mullion and surround, over a board door with C20 gabled wooden porch. C18 bay to left also has C20 plastic casements with old wooden lintels, the lower window of 3 lights, the upper of 2. 3-light wooden casements and central door, also in gabled porch. Interior is said to have some original beams, and large fireplace with C20 wooden lintel.
