Description

The stable court and lodge, located on the north side of Sandford Park, date back to around 1700, with some parts possibly being older, and features elements from the 19th century. The building is constructed from limestone rubble with marlstone ashlar dressings, coursed squared marlstone, and limestone ashlar, topped with concrete plain-tile roofs. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high.

The five-window rubble range that adjoins Sandford Park includes three-light stone-mullioned windows on the first floor, a blocked central archway with a keyblock, and a four-panel door with a shallow wooden canopy supported by consoles. To the right, there is a range built around a square dovecote with a marlstone front and a pyramid roof, which rises above a double-arched coach house. This section includes a four-window area to the left and a three-window area to the right, both featuring additional mullioned windows and three doors with canopies.

At the end of the projecting range, there is a 19th-century ashlar lodge and archway, which have mullioned windows and elaborate Dutch gables adorned with carved arms; the lodge was likely converted from a barn. The interiors have not been inspected.
