Description
No. 50 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the early 17th century but was refronted around 1830. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a 19th-century stucco front. It features a gabled Welsh slate roof and has a left end stack made of stone finished in brick. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, with a two-window range. The early 19th-century central door has six panels, two of which are glazed, and is set in a reeded architrave with scrolled wrought-iron brackets supporting a flat hood. The windows include 6-pane sashes and 19th-century two-light casements with glazing bars on the first floor. Attached to the left is a short one-bay range made from similar materials. Inside, there are chamfered beams with jewel stops and winder stairs located to the left.
