Description
No. 34 is a house that now serves as both a residence and a shop. It dates from the early 19th century but has origins that trace back to the late 16th or early 17th century. The building is constructed from squared and coursed limestone and features a gabled Welsh slate roof, with brick stacks located at the rear. It has an L-shaped plan with a rear right wing and stands two storeys tall, presenting a two-window range. The entrance includes a 20th-century door with an overlight, while the windows are 20th-century installations set within a mid-19th-century architrave that has pilasters and a moulded cornice. Flat stone arches are positioned above six-pane sash windows. The rear wing is partially made of limestone rubble and was rebuilt in early to mid-19th-century brick, also topped with a Welsh slate roof and six-pane sashes. There is a later 19th-century brick extension at the rear, which has a concrete tile roof. Inside, the ground floor features late 16th or early 17th-century hollow and ogee-moulded beams.
