Description
The Crown Inn is a mid-19th century inn, remodeled and refronted from a 17th and 18th century building, with a late 19th century extension to the left. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan extended by two wings at the rear and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a two-window range.
On the right side, there is a mid-19th century canted bay window with a stone slate roof and glazing-bar sashes. The windows have keyed flat stone arches over 6-pane sashes. Gabled roof dormers are fitted with 3-pane sashes. The late 19th century two-storey extension to the left has a stone lintel and a flat hood over a late 19th century six-panelled door, which includes two glazed panels, along with sashes that have glazing bars.
At the rear of the main range, there is a two-storey bay to the right, rendered in the 19th century and topped with a gabled Welsh slate roof. A larger two-storey wing to the rear left is made of limestone rubble and has a similar roof, although it has been significantly remodeled in mid-19th century brick. The first floor interior is not inscribed.
