Description

The Norman Hall is a manor house, now a residential property, dating from the late 12th century with later alterations, including a probable early 20th-century wing at the rear. The building is constructed of uncoursed stone rubble with ashlar stone dressings and features an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks at the rear. It is a two-storey, four-bay structure positioned at right angles to the street.

The entrance includes a round-arched doorway located to the left of the center, which is adorned with one order of shafts, roll mouldings, and decorative nailhead and dogtooth details. The door is wood-studded. The windows exhibit irregular spacing, predominantly featuring 19th-century casements, alongside a lancet window on the first floor to the right and a blocked lancet window on the first floor to the right of center. On the right side facing the street, there is a 20th-century six-light stone mullion window on the ground floor, as well as a 19th-century three-light stone mullion window on the ground floor and another three-light stone mullion window with cusped heads on the first floor.

The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have an arch-braced collar truss roof with two tiers of wind braces. The early 20th-century wing at the rear faces the street.
