Description
Nos 2 and 4 London Street is a house from the late 17th century with a stucco front that has undergone many alterations. It is two stories tall with an attic and features a stone tiled roof, large brick stacks on the end walls, and two attractive segmental pedimented dormers with leaded lights. The building has a six-window range. No 2 retains bolection moulded surrounds, moulded sills, and glazing bar sash windows, while No 4 has three 19th-century sash windows. There is a fine wooden eaves cornice with modillion brackets. The ground floors have been altered, with a modern shop front at No 4 and a 19th-century front at No 2. The rear of the building has two gabled sections, with No 2 having a hipped roof, and features a large brick chimney stack on the rear wall.
