1/10 Summerhouse at north end of lake, Faringdon Park -

GV II

c.1840 picturesque summerhouse built over outflow from lake above C19 grotto garden. Timber framing and red brick, one storey with fish-scale tiled roof and iron ornamental cresting. Lakeside gable projected out as porch on twisted wood columns. Ornamental barge-boards and finial. Door in reeded wood frame with grotesque heads at angles and as keystone. Carved panel above. 2-light Gothic windows each side with carved heads at angles. North side, brick base with balcony projected over cascade. Turned balusters. Half-glazed door in similar frame to south door. Roof projected over balcony carried on timber arched braces. Ornamental barge-boards.
