Description
Wythe Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century. It features a deep rendered plinth and irregular timber-framing with rendered infill, topped by a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the right. There is a brick end stack on the left and a ridge stack to the right of the center. The building has a 2-unit lobby-entry plan and is two stories high with a two-window range. The central entrance has a plank door and is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled open porch. To the left, there is a 20th-century garage door. At the time of the survey, the ground floor windows were boarded up, while the first floor has three-light casements with leaded lights on both sides. Although the interior was not inspected, it is said to be of cruck construction.
