Description
No. 2 Newbury Road is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century and has had some alterations in the 20th century. The building features a rendered 19th-century brick plinth in the center, with painted brick on the ground floor to the left and right. The ground floor center has irregular timber-framing with wattle-and-daub infill, while the first floor showcases 19th-century timber-framing with rendered infill. The roof is a plain-tile half-hipped style from the 20th century, and there is a brick ridge stack located to the left of the center. The structure is two stories high and consists of three bays. There is a plank door to the left of the center, three-light casements on the left and right, and a two-light casement in the center. Additionally, there are two eyebrow half-dormers, one to the left and one to the right of the center. Although the interior was not inspected, it is said to be of cruck construction.
