Description

Forge Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Church Street in East Hendred. It features a rendered plinth and large timber-framing with a mid rail that has rendered infill. The roof is covered with old plain tiles and is half-hipped, with a brick ridge stack positioned to the right of the center. The cottage is two stories high and has a three-window range. There is a plank door on the left side, and all openings have 20th-century two-light casements. Although the interior was not inspected, it is reputed to be of cruck construction. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension on the right that connects the house with Hillside House.
