Description

Hickmans Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The front is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with flared brick headers in the centre; the left side features square timber framing with 20th-century brick infill. The roof is thatched and hipped, with ridge stacks located to the right of the centre. It may have originally been a double-ended hall house plan. The cottage is single-storey with an attic, and has a four-window front. A plank door is situated to the left of the centre, sheltered by a 20th-century open porch. The windows are a mix of irregular casements. Swept dormers are present. The interior has not been inspected.
