Description
Heather Cottage, Appletree Cottage and Pebble Cottage are three houses, originally a single house at the centre and two further houses added in the early 18th century. The central house is of 17th-century origin and has roughcast walls, likely over brick, with an old plain-tile roof and a brick end stack to the left. It is a two-storey, two-window range, featuring a plank door under a flat hood, and three-light casement windows to all openings. The house to the left has painted brick to the ground floor and roughcast walls, probably over timber framing, to the first floor, with a 20th-century plain-tile roof and a brick end stack to the left. It is a two-storey, two-window range, with a six-panel part-glazed door to the right centre. The first floor has two 12-pane unhorned sash windows, with the bottom sashes converted to four panes. The house to the right also has roughcast walls, probably over timber framing, and an old plain-tile roof with stacks that are not visible. It is a two-storey, two-window range, with a 20th-century door to the left, a three-light casement window to the ground floor centre, a two-light casement to the ground floor right, and two 2-light casement windows to the first floor. The interiors were not inspected, but some visible timber framing was noted. The properties are included on the list for their group value.
