Description
Nos. 5 to 9 on Mill Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of random bond red brick and features an old tile roof with a brick stack. The original two-unit lobby-entry plan has been remodeled in the 20th century. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range.
The front includes a 20th-century door with plate-glass windows on either side of a central blocked door. There are gauged brick flat arches with keystones above the 8-pane sashes flanking the central blocked window. The eaves are dentilled, and the roof is a half-hipped gambrel style with a ridge stack. On the left gable wall, there are two 18th-century three-light casements, each with one leaded light. At the rear right, there is a similar one-storey and attic wing with a one-window range. The interior has not been inspected.
