Description
Arnhem Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a later 18th-century bay added to the right. It is constructed of random limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick stacks. The original layout of the house is not clearly defined. The building has one storey and an attic, with a two-window range. There is a late 20th-century inserted door with timber lintels above, and a blocked original opening to the left. To the right, there is a late 18th-century two-light casement window with one inserted light, and a flat stone arch over another blocked opening. The half dormers have 18th-century three-light casements, with the right dormer retaining its original leaded lights. The roof is half-hipped on the left side and gabled on the right, with a gable end stack to the right. Timber lintels are present over 20th-century casements and doors on the sides and rear, while a half dormer at the rear retains an 18th-century two-light casement. Inside, there is a three-bay raised-cruck roof with through purlins.
