Description
Keep Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with a mid-18th century bay on the left. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and flared header bond brick, featuring red brick dressings on the left side. The cottage has a thatched roof and 20th-century brick stacks. It has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-window range. The left side has a 20th-century door framed by a beaded wood architrave. The second window from the left has a blocked original door. To the right, there is a flat stone arch over a mid-19th century twelve-light fixed casement, with timber lintels above two 20th-century casements in the centre. Additionally, there is a 20th-century three-light leaded casement and one 18th-century two-light leaded casement. The roof is gabled with stacks at the gable ends, and there is a small original outshut at the rear right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
