Description
The Nook is a house located on Warborough Wharf Road, dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century. The building features rendered timber framing and clunch rubble, topped with an old plain-tile roof and brick ridge stacks. It has a three-unit plan and is one storey plus attics. The front has two windows, with glazed doors and two-light dormers that have ornamental barge boards, flanking a central round-headed window with margin lights. To the left, there is a small rubble wing that projects. The roof is half hipped and includes a ridge stack above the central window. The left gable wall, which faces the road, is made of rubble and has two segmental-arched 16-pane sash windows. The rear wall features a plaster eaves cove. Inside, there is a large internal stack with back-to-back open fireplaces, which have timber bressumers and brick jambs.
